Out of State Teacher Training Program
“As a Pilates teacher who has been teaching full-time for over a decade, and practicing Pilates for over two decades, I can tell you that Hilary is one of the best teachers I've met during my Pilates career. Not only does she deeply understand the method of Pilates but she truly cares about her students and clients and helps her teacher trainers become amazing teachers themselves.
I originally went through a high-quality, comprehensive teacher training program to get my certificate, yet it doesn't even compare to what Hilary offers.
There are many types of teacher training programs available, and they are definitely not all of the same caliber.
Not only does Hilary give her student teachers a deep understanding of the Pilates choreography, but also the philosophy behind the exercises, and a true understanding of the method. She also is extremely generous with her own time, being consistently available for her student teachers, and remains a mentor and resource not only throughout the program but throughout the new teacher's careers.
What you get from Hilary's program is priceless and unparalleled from other programs. Most of the things she teaches her student teachers I had to learn on my own as I made my way through the initial years of my career.
It takes years to learn everything and find that deep understanding of Pilates, and Hilary will be with you through the journey.
Many programs are not fully comprehensive. While they may seem cheaper and quicker to finish at first glance, it's much more expensive to piece-meal the certificates one at a time, and the student loses the deeper understanding of how the full method works as a whole, missing a majority of the exercises and method. Additionally, the student who only holds partial certificates compared to comprehensive programs has significantly limited options on where they can teach upon completion.
A comprehensive program takes a minimum of a year to complete, though student teachers can begin teaching with approval before their certificate is completed.
Hilary's program offers:
1. Pilates exercises, choreography, transitions on all equipment (mat, reformer, Cadillac, high back chair, Wunda chair, ladder barrel, pedi pull, spine corrector/small arc, magic circle, foot corrector)
2. Contraindications, precautions, anatomy, and special populations
3. Student mentors and study groups
4. Observation hours
5. Practice hours
6. Assisted teaching hours
7. Mentorship hours
8. Apprenticeship hours
9. Connections to potential employment in other studios throughout the industry
10. Business information (professionalism, ethics, code of conduct, scope of practice, NPCP)

Are you wanting to travel to LA? I had many requests from potential students to come and do the Teacher Training but, the issue was the schedule. So I created a schedule that allows you to get all the benefits, personalized attention, and everything that makes this program unique and available to you, even from outside the Los Angeles area.
In this program, you will come to Los Angeles for 3 visits over 3 days. These weekend intensives cover all the course syllabus and is a fully Comprehensive Teacher Training. You will be using the studio as all Teacher Trainers in the Program. It is the same full Comprehensive Program using the Gratz Apparatus and including the smaller apparatus such as Foot corrector and more.
Between weekend intensives students have online worksheets and homework, Zoom meetings for questions and concerns, and keeping track of practice and all hours required. You will also have access to the online stream of Teacher Training classes and clients going on during your Course to watch live or when you are able to go over things more and still be a part of the community even while you are back at home.
You will also still have your student advisor to help and the same Mentorship experience as if you were living and hanging out in LA every day!
Once accepted into the program you will enter a full year of true Mentorship/Apprentice-style learning. Getting back to learning and becoming a teacher that is created by an environment of being more engaged and motivated as you are a part of that experience in your learning.
This personal Mentor-Apprentice style of training is an Assessment-based Certificate in a fully supportive environment for you to learn the Traditional Pilates exercises, anatomy, how to break the material down for your client, and develop teaching skills. You will feel confident with any issue, working with special populations, teaching mat, and all the apparatus. You will gain tools to help you thrive as a teacher and have the career you’ll love and be passionate about.
